Kelley,
My boys (5 and 7 years old) and I love listening to the Wow in the World podcast so I was so excited to get an advanced copy of the newest book Wow in the Wild! My boys loved the quizzes at the beginning of each chapter and the pictures/comics included throughout kept my 5 year old entertained while learning a lot of interesting facts。 The way the book is laid out was perfect for my 7 year old to read without getting too overwhelmed with all the facts。 There is so much great information but pres My boys (5 and 7 years old) and I love listening to the Wow in the World podcast so I was so excited to get an advanced copy of the newest book Wow in the Wild! Trudi M,
I received an Advance Reading Copy of this book Clarion Books。 This is an amazing book about animals。 My grandson, who loves animals, will love it! I love the way the facts are embedded in the book so cleverly and easily accessible to kids。 Lots of graphics, pictures, little comic strips, and covers all types of animals。 My grandson is in the first grade, and may need some guidance from his Mom at first, but I think he will continue to grow into this book。 I highly recommend this book。
Dawn,
I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from Netgalley。 All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased。What a great book for kids! It’s like reading a comic book while learning about animals。 Not only is it filled with information, but it’s funny and engaging。 It also has a helpful glossary at the end。There was a lot in here that I didn’t know。 For example, did you know that 10 years ago biologists estimated that there are over 8。7 million species of animals on Ea I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from Netgalley。 All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased。What a great book for kids! That one tidbit alone would be a good topic for discussion。This is my favorite type of book for children: it is fun and engaging all while they’re learning。 。。。more
Kate TerHaar,
Highly engaging book chock full of information on the animal kingdom。 From crocodiles and tardigrades to drill monkeys and quokka, animal facts abound。 For instance, did you know that one eyeball of a giant squid is bigger than a whole human head?Fun, educational book that will appeal to all readers。
Rachel,
Magnificent pictures, easy chunks of information on a variety of types of animals。 This was a delight to read and one of those titles that goes well beyond the focused age range。 Older kids with lower reading levels can still be engaged without feeling too childish for reading it。 Thanks to NetGalley nd Clarion Books for an early read!
Katherine,
This cartoon-style book is chock full of great information on birds, reptiles, mammals, fishes, and insects。 The illustrations and bite sized information will make this highly engaging and accessible to kids ages 7-13。 Connections to physics, animal behavior, and other subfields of biology make for great discoveries and “ah-ha” moments。 Accurate enough to support classroom instruction; varied enough to not easily loose kids’ interest。 Reminded me a lot of the style of the ‘Horrible Science’ seri This cartoon-style book is chock full of great information on birds, reptiles, mammals, fishes, and insects。 The illustrations and bite sized information will make this highly engaging and accessible to kids ages 7-13。 Connections to physics, animal behavior, and other subfields of biology make for great discoveries and “ah-ha” moments。 Accurate enough to support classroom instruction; varied enough to not easily loose kids’ interest。 Reminded me a lot of the style of the ‘Horrible Science’ series。 。。。more
